Spain’s Great Ambassador

Or is that Australia’s Best Ambassador to Spain?Managing Director, Biznaga Travel Company

Casey Death started Biznaga Travel Company to spread her love of Spain, its people, cuisine and landscape. She has amazing success with customising tours for travellers who value these intrinsic cultural mores and as a result instigated a partnership with Frank Camorra, of Movida fame.

Frank has just realeased his latest book – ‘Movida’s Guide To Barcelona‘ – where he, along with food writer Richard Cornish, extol the virutes of Barcelona’s eating and drinking establishments.

In his acknowledgements, Frank recognises Casey and Biznaga Travel Company – she has great knowledge and familiarity with Barcelona and its food. Casey and Frank have become friends and tour companions extraodinaire. Touring Spain with these two would certainly be a foodies’ dream come true.

So have a look at some of Casey’s fabulous recipes for Spanish dishes to recreate at home:

Paella Valenciana (chicken and pork paella)
Paelle de Mariscos (seafood paella)
Almejos a la Marinera (baby clam tapas)

And if you want to dream of that Spanish holiday, check out Biznaga Travel Company or email casey@biznagatravelcompany.com directly.

Better than Takeaway

I didn’t feel like cooking last night, but fortunately had the makings of a fabulous soup that made it look like I’d been slaving over a hot stove.

1 litre of Mures prawn bisque – packed and kept in the cupboard
1 piece of Tasmanian smoked salmon – vacuum packed, kept in the fridge
1 pack of smoked Eden mussels – vacuum packed, kept in the fridge.
Heat the lobster bisque,
add pack of mussels,
shredded smoked salmon,
juice of half a lemon,
1 zucchini cut into batons and a little fresh coriander and within 10 minutes I had a meal to die for.
MMMM that’s better than takeaway!

Italian Food Adventures

Who would have thought a simple salad could have been so extraordinary. But when you have custom designed and produced tableware and colourful ingredients, this 21…31…41 salad (the numbers represent ingredients depending upon the season), this is just what you get. We loved this at Piazza del Duomo in Alba, Italy.

Sharing the Passion – Every Day

Sharing the Passion – Every Day

Welcome to Your Weekly Menu’s blog about food and drink we love. Some of our ramblings are about fabulous food (ie ingredients) you can access in Australia and some are about places we’ve been where eating and drinking are memorable.

We firmly believe that eating, an activity most (lucky) people in our country indulge in every day, should be as enjoyable as possible. That’s why we started Your Weekly Menu - a website with food ideas and weekly menu suggestions designed for people cooking at home. We are cooks, not chefs, and understand that even with the best intentions, you often want dinner on the table very quickly, without hours slaving over a hot stove!

We have almost 800 recipes on our site, from simple everyday meals to ideas for special occasion meals. And we love feedback from those who love to cook as well as from those who find it a chore and just want to feed themselves and/or their families. So have a look at the website yourself!
